On Monday, all the 4th class girls went to the hall to learn all about pigeon racing! Mia Byrne’s dad James entered 2 race pigeons in the “Who Dares Wins International One loft Race 2023” on behalf of our school. The girls selected the names for the pigeons and one of the pigeons, Super Sandy, came in 7th place and won €1000 for the school! James brought in Super Sandy’s parents to show the girls and told them all about how he got into pigeon racing, what pigeon racing is and how he trains them! We all found it very interesting and the girls loved the opportunity to pet and hold the pigeons, as you can see in the photos! A huge thank you to James for winning the money for the school and for bringing the pigeons in!
