ReDiscovery Recycling Workshop!
As part of our science, we learned today about why reducing, reusing and recycling are important.
We had a fantastic workshop with Rossa from the ReDiscovery Centre in Ballymun.
Did you know that glass can be recycled forever and ever?
Did you know that a plastic bottle thrown away takes over 500 years to decompose?
Are you horrified to learn that most chewing guns have plastic in them ??
We are now experts on recycling & what things go in which bins at home.
The ReDiscovery Centre is open to the public all year round & is free of charge ! It's a great place to go over the summer holidays!
Here we are with some repurposed items : a belt made from a used bike tyre ; a bag made from reused Capri Sun pouches ; a coaster made from used magazines ; a frisbee made from plastic rubbish washed up onto a beach .......and most interesting of all, paper made from elephant poo !!! No joke!!!
Ms. Murray would prefer if we do our written work on ordinary paper ! 😂😂
