We love Science in Room 19 and we had lots of fun using skittles to conduct an experiment!
The girls began by arranging the skittles in a circle, ensuring that there were lots of different colour skittles on their plate. Then, we carefully poured warm water onto the plate and we watched as the colour of the skittles slowly started to creep towards the middle of the plate, making an amazing rainbow effect!
We learned that skittles are coated in food colouring and sugar. When you pour water over the skittles the coloured coating dissolves and spreads through the water!
