Two Down, Only One To Go!
Hello everyone, I’m Isabella Dooley-Dadura and this is what we’ve done in term two, from January to March.
It has been a busy term with lots of learning as well as fun things too. We’ve looked at persuasive writing in English, learned all about the 1916 Rising as well as the counties of Ireland in SESE. There’s been a LOT of fire drills but we also welcomed some Grandparents into our class too. It was so nice hearing stories of their time in school. I think it’s safe to say that our time is school is much better than it was in the past!
The whole celebrated World Book Day on March 02nd. A lot of people dressed up as characters from various books and told the class all about the characters they chose. I dressed up as Nicoló Di Angelo from the Percy Jackson Franchise. Others dressed up as Niki or Makenzie from Dork Diaries.
Funky Feet Friday also made a return. Funky Feet Friday used to be on the last Friday of every month but we had to stop due to Covid. However it recently restarted at the end of February and now the whole school is back dancing! Obviously, we’re all delighted for it in 6th class.
We have also started cycling with Eoin Ryan aka Dr. Bike. For the past few weeks we have been cycling around the basketball court and girls that aren’t able to cycle have been learning how to with the help of his co-worker Amanda. The whole idea of the course is that by the end of the 6 weeks we will have enough experience to go out cycling on the roads around Finglas.
The big thing that happened this term was our Confirmation. It’s crazy to believe that all the hard work that we’ve done, learning all about The Ten Commandments, The Beatitudes, the Fruits and Gifts of The Holy Spirit, for it to be all over. Everyone looked so beautiful in their outfits and we got to tour the school the following day showing off our looks! From listening to everyone talk about their day and weekends that followed it seems that everyone had a really good time and all the hard work was worth it! It will surely be a day to remember.
That’s all for now. That’s for reading,
Isabella.
