Yard Games!!

All of the girls in St. Canice's have been very excited at having activities to play with in the yard this term. They have been busy skipping, playing with hula hoops and practising their ball skills!

The girls in Mr. Brennan's 3rd class have become experts at French Skipping and have made some videos to give everyone some ideas. Well done girls, you are brilliant!

French skipping is a very easy skill to learn. You need a light band and three people. Two girls will place the band around their ankles. The other girl will stand in between them and hop over the band.

You can make it fun by skipping along to a rhyme. We watched some routines on YouTube and learned a fun rhyme. You can make up your own steps to the rhyme.

We also used it to help us practice our 8 times tables by skip counting. You can see this in the video below.
